Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in the OneMain benefits program if you are a team member who is regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week. Part-time team members averaging between 20-29 hours per week may also be eligible for some of the benefits offered by OneMain such as, 401k, EAP and Care.com.

Eligible team members may enroll themselves along with their qualified dependents in the medical/prescription drug (Rx), dental, vision and life insurance plans offered.

Qualified dependents include:

  • Legal spouse
  • Same- and opposite-sex domestic partner
  • Children up to age 26 (medical/Rx, life and AD&D) through the calendar year
  • Children up to age 30 (dental and vision) through the calendar year
  • Disabled children (no age limit for coverage)

If you and an eligible dependent are both employed at OneMain, you may each be enrolled as a team member or covered as a dependent of the other, but not both (excluding life and AD&D coverage).

Only one parent may enroll a child as a dependent for medical/Rx, dental, and vision.

Premiums for domestic partner coverage will be withheld on an after-tax basis.

When to Enroll

Current Team Members: Each year you have an opportunity to evaluate and make changes to your benefit elections during the annual enrollment period. Any changes made during the 2026 Annual Enrollment will be effective January 1, 2026.

New Hires: New team members hired in October and November will qualify for dual enrollment. You should submit your elections for current year first, then enroll for the upcoming year. Enrollment should be completed within 31 days of your start date. Effective January 1, 2026, coverage for health benefits is effective on your date of hire.

If you do not enroll for coverage during these windows, you will not be able to enroll until the next Annual Enrollment period unless you have a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

Making Changes

During the plan year (January 1 through December 31), a team member may experience an IRS Qualified Life Event (QLE). Apart from Annual Enrollment, a team member may be able to make changes to benefit elections if the QLE is consistent with the change requested.

If you experience a QLE, please contact the Benefits Service Center by calling 844-364-7657 within 31 days of the event date to make changes. Coverage is effective on the first day of the month following the event date, unless the event occurred on the first of the month. Events that occur on the first of the month are effective on that date. Marriage, domestic partnerships and birth/adoption are effective on the date of the event.

If you do not make changes to your elections within the 31-day period, you will not be able to make changes until the next Annual Enrollment period. Changes would then be effective January 1 of the following year.
